Leases for tracts in Big Muddy saline reserve, 1815-1831.

Leases were executed by General Land Office (prior to 1819) and Governor (1819 and later) and include names, residences and signatures of lessees; terms of lease (e.g., duration and amount of rent due annually); date lease executed; and signature of Commissioner of the General Land Office or the Governor. Also included are incoming correspondence to the Governor regarding individual's right to lease a tract, petion from residents of Jackson County asking that saline be leased, and a power of attorney granted by a lessee.
